Capital facing electricity shortage

Give our kids a better deal

PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) – Phnom Penh is currently facing electricity shortages, which will lead households in both suburb and capital to experience rotational electricity cut off.

The electricity cut off in the suburb has been occurring since about three weeks ago without pre-announcement by authority. The cut off lasts from 30 minutes to an hour, and sometimes up to two hours.

A source from official at Electricité du Cambodge said that the previous electricity cut off north of Phnom Penh city was because of over use of electricity.

The source said electricity supply station in Tuol Sangke was short about 50 megawatts, and that cutoff was required.
